Yesterday morning as I was getting ready to leave for the dog show, I refilled the dogs' water bowl and added some ice cubes to keep it fresher. I noted at the time that the outside of the ice cubes seemed wet, but they weren't melted together, so I just shrugged it off.
We went to the dog show and had a lovely day, and I came home and opened the freezer. Everything in it had melted. The ice cube bin was full of water.
I called LG's service department and they are sending a repair person on Tuesday. I am just freaking LIVID. This fridge is a month old and already had a meltdown? I hear the motor running, but is making a faint, single, tinny ticking sound at irregular intervals, and I suspect that is some sort of switch trying - and failing - to turn on.
So I will be throwing out melted food AGAIN, and taking what I can salvage to my daughter's later. This meltdown is even worse than the old fridge's issues - things aren't half-melted, they are ruined. Now it remains to be seen whether it can be repaired in one visit on Tuesday, or am I going through another round of refrigerator drama around Christmas THIS year too.
My eyes are twitching. I am not kidding.
