Sleep Deprivation.
I was awakened at 4:30 a.m. by a little dog whimpering softly. As the little dog in question is prone to, shall we say, explosiveness, I had to drag myself out of bed and take both dogs out. Then the cat demanded breakfast. Then the cat threw up breakfast and demanded another breakfast. Then the dogs had their small morning meal and were peeved that there were no morning biscuits to follow. Then we walked again. Now I need to clean my filthy home, because once again there is not a single horizontal surface that doesn't have some sort of clutter. I am so tired. It's going to be a long day, and there isn't enough coffee on the planet.
The whimpering little dog is sleeping again. Of course.
The human kids may be grown, but the canine kids are babies forever. Happy Mother's Day to all you Dog Moms!

Happy MD to you, too Catherine. My own bossy little dog, Hannah, let me sleep in this morning. Instead of waking me up to go outside, she just peed on the living room carpet. (Thanks, Microscopic Tiny Little Pooh Bear Dog.) She is eleven, and still in good health, but I know what you are going through---I ran an assisted living facility for one extremely spoiled Yorkie for about the last year of my other dog's life, and as dear as Hannah is to me, I still miss her sometimes.

Happy Mother's Day to you, too. I'm glad all the systems are working well on your recovering tiny, bossy little dog. Hope you get a little nap or something.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have tolerated peeing on the carpet in exchange for sleeping in, but when Murphy explodes it's a lot of work to clean it up!
