I didn't have a day with Miss D after all - her daddy had to take his car to the body shop for repairs, so he took his usual day off (today) and all I did was pick them up at the body shop and drop them at the house. It appears that his car was hit by a delivery truck in a parking lot - it took out the headlight and crumpled the hood, so the shop thinks it was the big steel bumper on a truck, and the driver probably didn't even notice. Or did notice and chose to drive on, who knows? So the car is in the shop, he was home with the baby, and I got a lot of work done. I will have her on Friday, which is fine - one day is a breeze, two, and I start to stress out over other things I should be doing.
It's also good because I'm officially punchy with sleep deprivation. One or another of the animals has been waking me at 4 a.m. for the last several days. I think Murphy was still in pain from his oral surgery - he'd wake up and whimper and rub his face on the bed, etc., pretty damn obvious sign that the pain patch wasn't doing its job anymore. His pain patch was removed today, but I came home with a couple of days of another pain med to see him through. He's doing pretty well, bright and chipper and eating his mushy food, etc., he's just sore enough to wake up earlier than usual because his little mouth is bugging him. The vet doesn't need to see him again unless he's still hurting after this round of pain meds runs out. I think he'll be fine by then. I hope he'll be fine by then, because this waking up an hour or so before the alarm is wearing me out. It's nearly 7:30 and I'm seriously ready to call it a night - but I have some stuff to do first, and the dogs need another walk and Murphy needs his pain meds...let's hope we all sleep a solid 8 hours tonight. Please, God.
wishing you a good night's sleep
ReplyDeleteThanks, I need it! It's that less than an hour before the alarm was going to go off anyway thing that really stings! I felt fine and was productive all day, after three cups of coffee, but I started out very whiny. ;-)
