Today, a large crowd gathered near Asheville, NC, to celebrate Supergirl's birthday.
There was cake:
And balloons:
(She really liked the balloons)
and many laps to sit on, and then presents to open!
She loves her new xylophone, and played it by herself right away.
She was very excited by her new baby doll!
and gave her kisses when we told her to "Kiss the baby!"
She managed to make time for a little walking practice. I'd say she's two weeks or less from soloing.
She is an absolute riot - her own personality is emerging, and she's very smart (already talking a bit, and understands a huge number of words and concepts) and shows every sign of being as precocious as both of her parents. God help them. Heh heh....
Oh ... Look at the sheer delight on papa's face. Love doesn't come any clearer.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday supergirl.
How adorable!! Did she do a cake smash? All the one year old grandchildren in my family have always either grabbed a handful or nose-dived into their birthday cake lol.
ReplyDeleteJen - she was served in bite-sized pieces, so though she had a bit of a chocolate and then frosting face she didn't do a cake smash.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Bess, my son is absolutely insanely besotted with her, and she with him. He's a completely devoted daddy and she knows it.
My personal theory is that no man is properly organised until he has a daughter to organise him !!
ReplyDeleteMy qualifications: simply being a Daddy's girl myself, mother to a very talented Daddy's girl, m-i-l to another of the genus, and both grand-daughters have the game down pat.
