More particulars on the shawl - it's very light and not at all like wearing a "warshcloth." Softball Cotton is delightful stuff. Good thing I like it, because I still have tons of it. This pattern, in this yarn, would be an excellent charity knitting project for new mothers or perhaps to donate to a cancer center - it's sturdy and machine washable, not too heavy or too dainty. I would love to give you a closeup of the pattern, but my camera isn't up to the task. I like the pattern so much I'm ready to start another right on the heels of the first - I'm trying to resist. I have that cone of Bambu 7 and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I love, love, love the Bambu 7 - it is silky soft and I can just imagine how it would drape in a simple pattern like this.

OTOH, I went through my pattern collection, and I have a strong compulsion to get into the Helen's Lace, and I'm leaning toward this: Simply Stunning Lace Shawl. It meets my requirements - it's easy and it would show off the yarn wonderfully. Or, you know, I could start both....

  1. Start both, and flip back and forth as the mood takes you. That way you won't get too bored with either.

  2. I always have at least two projects in play at any given time. I should focus on the Seychelles Shawl before I touch the Helen's Lace. I tried the Bambu 7 in the All Seasons Shawl pattern and though it was drapey and light and wonderful, it just didn't work for me somehow. I need to find the right pattern for it, I love that yarn!
