More particulars on the shawl - it's very light and not at all like wearing a "warshcloth." Softball Cotton is delightful stuff. Good thing I like it, because I still have tons of it. This pattern, in this yarn, would be an excellent charity knitting project for new mothers or perhaps to donate to a cancer center - it's sturdy and machine washable, not too heavy or too dainty. I would love to give you a closeup of the pattern, but my camera isn't up to the task. I like the pattern so much I'm ready to start another right on the heels of the first - I'm trying to resist. I have that cone of Bambu 7 and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I love, love, love the Bambu 7 - it is silky soft and I can just imagine how it would drape in a simple pattern like this.
OTOH, I went through my pattern collection, and I have a strong compulsion to get into the Helen's Lace, and I'm leaning toward this: Simply Stunning Lace Shawl. It meets my requirements - it's easy and it would show off the yarn wonderfully. Or, you know, I could start both....
Start both, and flip back and forth as the mood takes you. That way you won't get too bored with either.
ReplyDeleteI always have at least two projects in play at any given time. I should focus on the Seychelles Shawl before I touch the Helen's Lace. I tried the Bambu 7 in the All Seasons Shawl pattern and though it was drapey and light and wonderful, it just didn't work for me somehow. I need to find the right pattern for it, I love that yarn!
