Well, here's something you hardly ever see around here - it's a F.O.! This is the All Season Shawl, in sportweight Softball cotton. I didn't do the entire ruffle trim. After the first row of shells I decided I liked the simple edge and quit before doing the next round of ruffle.
hey there! just to let you know that i liked ur blog very much..i red all the posts and its revigurating!nice work!perhaps u want to check out mine as well?
ReplyDeleteoh wow - awesome in that yarn isn't it? Way more awesome than mine that is using the called for Aunt Lydia's Denim (which I probably wouldn't have used if I didn't ahve two balls in my stash that were never going to be used to finish that project) - I don't know that I can bring myself to start a second one even if I got better yarn though - I like it - but I just lose interest rather easily.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - in that yarn...wow
It's lovely Catherine! Are you still gonna dye it?
ReplyDeleteBTW http://www.handknitting.com/ has the Euroflax and Gems even cheaper with volume discounts and the same free shipping if over $100.
Well, dammit Debi, here I was being all virtuous about using the stash, and you throw cheaper Euroflax linen at me! I have this mad idea of a 60 inch circ and a feather and fan cover for a queen sized bed. It's mindless enough to be good movie watching work, and I can f&f in my sleep. Stop me, somebody...?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to let it sit a bit. Here's the secret: Girlchild graduates August 5, at O-Dark-Thirty in the morning, because my alma mater does sucketh mightily. I am thinking that I will figure out what I will wear to a dawn patrol graduation and, what, brunch at Denny's? and dye it if it needs dye. Because what are the odds that I'll finish anything else between now and August 5th?
ReplyDeleteThe evening party at the clubhouse is now even more vital. Nobody's going to want to be there to watch her walk but her mother and her brother if I buy him a humongous Starbucks thing.
Hi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and saw this beautiful shawl, can you please tell me where to get the pattern or send it to me via email
if you can kimble73@yahoo.ca
Also could a beginner knitter or little past beginner knit this?
Thank you so much---Sandy
http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/lffunt/allshawl.htm That's the link to the shawl - it's crocheted, not knitted. If the link doesn't work, google "All Season Shawl" "Priscilla Hewitt" it'll come up.
