I'm starting to enjoy shopping again. God help my bank account. I shopped bigtime today - a skirt, a pair of slacks, blouses, cotton and silk tops, in bright colors and fitted styles. I am sick unto death of dressing like a guy, and a guy whose pants are too big at that. And I'm only halfway to my goal weight, my abs are still flabby and not what they should be, but it's already so much fun to put on something sleeveless and see firm arms I'm not afraid to show in public. Thank you, Denise Austin and all that plank position and t-stands and other painful things you do to me. My fitness binge is paying off so well there's no way I have any desire to backslide.

This neckline is HUGE this season, and I'm loving the colors in every store - lots of brights with neutrals. I've decided my new favorite color is bright apple green. I had to resist buying a bright apple green leather purse at Stein Mart. I am very much a "neutral go with anything sensible bag" type - now I'm sorry I resisted. I may have to go back for it tomorrow.

I'm off for another two day road trip starting late tomorrow afternoon - hence the shopping today. The last trip was a strain, I had hardly anything to wear to look presentable, baggy washed out Dockers and sweaters from Target. Not that Boss would ever comment on my tacky attire, but it bothered ME. This time I will be in a nice Ann Taylor skirt and apple green ballet neckline silk sweater, hose and heels, like a big girl professional woman (which I am). I'm so glad!

So do I go back for that apple green purse after Mass tomorrow? I think maybe I do. Not for work, I'm still a black leather portfolio bag type for work, but that apple green bag would be too cute to add some life to jeans and a (whoo-hoo) black tank top. Yeah, I think I've talked myself into it.

And this is just the appetizer course of the shopping buffet - when Girlchild comes home for a couple of days over Spring Break we are going to do some serious shopping. Luckily I will be making some overtime in the meantime, as well as continuing to exercise and hopefully lose more weight.

Bardot is on the agenda for tonight after housework. I think the other green sweater, the Mission Falls Cotton Lo-Tech Sweat, will be the road trip sweater this week. What is it with me and green lately?
