The rain passed, the temps dropped again - not bitterly cold, but cold enough for wimpy Floridians. Murphy and I did our walkie last night in record time - the dog loves the crisp air, he wanted to run the entire distance. This was a 40 minute walk when we started doing it just about exactly a month ago, now it's down to 25 minutes. We're both getting into pretty good shape, and we really love our walk. I think soon I will have to come back from the walk, feed the critters, and then do an exercise DVD to add a little more to the workout - the walk has gotten too easy. After last night's walk I added a bit more to the workout by dragging all my yard trash to the curb for today's pickup - 13 bags of mulch and weeds and yuck, plus two heavy cans of tree branches and hunks of confederate jasmine. That was the weight-lifting portion of the day's workout, I decided I could pass on doing a DVD.

And on that note, Billy Blanks, Where Are You? I ordered the intro Tae Bo DVD from Barnes & Noble about a week ago, and the order tracking page tells me it shipped but has never been updated to tell me where it is now. I hope it and my other ordered goodies show up by Saturday. There's something about getting a Package in the Mail that brightens the entire day. I really want to try tae bo - my Girlchild is not an exercise fanatic by nature but she really enjoys it. Girldchild does the "Tae Bo Cardio" DVD on the shelf at Target, but I thought I'd want to start with the "intro," since my knees tend to take issue with anything with the word "cardio" in it, I want detailed beginner instructions. I don't have time to hurt myself.

And speaking of exercise, applause for Girlchild, who ran a mile yesterday for the first time since her lacrosse-career-ending ankle injury in her sophomore year of high school. Fingers crossed that the ankle may finally be fully healed - she was warned at the time that she'd wish she'd just broken it, and that sure turned out to be the truth, that ankle/foot has bothered her ever since. She's going to start running regularly with her friends - I think our 15 pounds by Spring Break goal is right on target.

Knitting contemplations - the pale green Mission Falls 1824 cotton is definitely destined to be a Lo-Tech Sweat. It's perfect for it, and I have just enough to make the 42" size, which should be oversized enough on my shrinking body - or Girlchild's if she claims it, it is, after all, "her" pale green. I like to have more than one (but not too many) project going at a time, for times when I'm not able to concentrate on small stitches or am sick of staring at the same color yarn or whatever, but this time I'll have two green sweaters in play at once. Oh well....
