My Next Big Thing.

I'm not feeling very inspired about blogging this month. Nothing bad is going on, I just feel...on hold. Waiting for my next big thing to arrive.

I need a big thing. A project. A focus. I can't force it; it has to show itself to me, or I will flail around trying to force other things to be my project, and then abandon them. Remodeling this condo was last year's big thing. Remodeling the bath at the house was an unexpected big thing, that left me too broke to contemplate any other big things of that ilk. My big thing needs to be a financially small thing, because there ain't no money for any big remodeling things.

I need to remodel ME. I am in need of an overhaul, inside and out, but I haven't quite got the task list together yet. I need more meditation and less noise in my head; then it will all become clear.

Knitting. I need more knitting. Knitting is meditation. I think better when knitting. I shall go knit.

Sister, I hear you. I'd kinda the same way. The weather here goes from high 70s to 50s almost every other day, and the wind won't stop blowing at top velocity.

I think my problem is I went to Savannah for a conference a couple of weeks ago. The town was gorgeous, the weather was gorgeous, I got to see the ocean, ate and drank like there was no tomorrow, and just didn't want to come back. Now I feel really blah and don't want to do anything except go back to Savannah--and I never expected to like it! I feel like I'm betraying the mountains that I love so much. lol

I keep hoping to inherit tons of money from a long-lost uncle so I can winter in Savannah and summer in Vermont. If wishes were horses...

  2. Yes. I need a thing. We are supposed to have goals - well, I have a goal. I want to retire, healthy and financially comfortable, and tomorrow. I have no long-losts to hope to inherit from (Damn you, Ancestry.com!!!) and need to figure this out. It's exhausting.

I started a quilt last weekend. (Actually, I cut it out almost two years ago but didn't start sewing until last weekend.) The top will have almost 2,000 pieces in it when it is finished---sewing is kind of meditative for me. I have to concentrate on what I am doing, and all other thoughts are crowded out of my mind. A new quilt isn't life-changing, but there is something soothing in all that color, pattern, and texture.

I just received more mail from "you." It had your real name on it.
