Lovely, Lovely Weekend.

The weekend was perfectly glorious - sunny and in the upper 70s, yet cool enough at night to sleep with the windows open.  Weather like this is the reward for surviving the six months of heat and humidity.    I spent the entire weekend Not Working.

When you are self-employed (and panicking about your income) you start feeling like you should be doing - doing more, doing this, doing that, just doing something!!! to build your business every single day.  And, at least in my case, this leads to a sort of panicky flailing around, doing a little of everything, waking up in the night thinking I should be doing MORE!!  Somehow, working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week sounds like a great plan at 3 a.m.  I do feel like I spent the entire year flailing - and spending money on - things that contributed exactly jack to my bottom line.

I am changing EVERYTHING in 2013.  My company offered a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the best real estate coaches in the country, and I've signed on.  Our office trainer gave me a copy of the December schedule the other day and I shrieked - 13 sessions in December alone, and those are not one hour classes - they run 4 hours at a time, and there are some two-a-day days that go until 10 p.m. - but I'm totally psyched about it!

Before that madness starts, I need to devote some evenings to knitting.  Miss D needs a new sweater for cool mornings.  It needs to be machine washable and dirt-hiding, as it will be worn to daycare and out on the playground, and I have some dark chocolate brown Cascade 220 superwash in the stash that do nicely.   My daughter requested a basic cardi, no hood, and I'll girly-it-up with cute buttons - I'm thinking kittens or flowers or something. I might even figure out a way to duplicate-stitch something cute and girly, we'll see.

Yesterday we went to the park:

It was a hit.  It's also obvious that the baby is now a KID.  She walks, she talks a little, she understands MUCH, she has opinions and a mischievous sense of humor.  She's very physical and tactile - she likes toys that she can DO things with, and she's in constant motion until she passes out from exhaustion. Her personality is developing, and she's a pistol.  She makes Grandma want to sell tons of houses and make tons of money, so Grandma can pay for goodies like dance classes and swimming lessons, because this is a kid who needs to DO!!

And on that note, it's time to get to work!
