After the news that President Obama had started a home brewing operation in the White House, a petition circulated on whitehouse.gov asking them to release the recipe. They did, and also included a cute and informative video on brewing beer. It's a really high speed view of the process, which, for the uninitiated, is a staggering amount of labor with a million fiddly little steps. I used to think baking bread from scratch was a big deal. I'll never brag about it again!
Home brewing in the White House
My son is a most excellent home brewer. I'm going to forward these recipes to him to look over and get his beer guy opinion. I'd love it if he'd brew a batch for me, but knowing how much work goes into the process and how busy he is, I hesitate to ask!
