And I'm really only vaguely bitter about it. I'm a teensy bit bitter because people I've known online for years but never met IRL always tend to show up at MD on my off years, and I miss the chance to meet and hang out with them. But honestly, I did not need to "do MDS&W" this year. I had consoled myself by thinking, "Oh well, I'll do SAFF this year! It's about 20 minutes away! Hells yeah! It's in my backyard, baby! Um, yeah, no, I can't. It's the weekend of my son's wedding. I MAY drop by on Sunday with Supergirl, to do a walk through and visit animals, but no classes, no major shopping on the agenda. Sigh.
I WILL sign up for a weaving class at the Friends & Fiberworks Summer Retreat, and maybe learn to warp my lovely little folding loom, which has been patiently sitting in the closet because I haven't had time to focus on learning weaving on top of everything else. But that'll be it for me and fiber events for the remainder of the year. I still have a yarn stash to work through.
But enough about that - I know that The Few, The Loyal, The Really Bored who visit here come for dog pictures and stories, so I will give you both. I was trying to get a cute video of my cute little dogs playing a cute little game of fetch. I ended up getting an episode of CSI: Canine Scent Investigation. Two other little dogs had been playing in the dog park before us, and apparently left some fascinating peemail.
I just love the simultaneous slamming on the brakes and dropping the balls to investigate.
And the snorting!! OMG! The snorting cracked me up!! Keep us informed on SAFF. I sure as hell don't NEED any more stash (it will take me a lifetime to go through what I already have) But I usually go to SAFF cuz it's a hop, skip & jump from here and totally doable in one day. Love to meet up with you!

ReplyDeleteLet's lightly pencil in Sunday at SAFF - the wedding is Saturday, and I'm figuring I'll be on the road to FL on Monday to meet the granddaughter due in the same week. I am barely 20 minutes from SAFF, so Sunday is not out of the question. I now know better than to get on the road on a weekend when Clemson might have a home game.

ReplyDeleteMD S&W was pleasant, good weather, packed with crowds. I walked away from 3 booths where the lines were halfway down the barn. I'll order online, thanks! But I did get to see and pet lots of nice yarn, and managed not to spend a billion dollars because of the long lines. Best buy- Topricin. I'd never heard of it, but it helps the back spasms from herniated disks, and sore thumbs from arthritis. Dont know how, but it is amazing. Two of my guildmates were with me in line at Carolina Homespun and started raving about it at the checkout.

I Googled Topricin and found it's available at Earth Fare, not 10 minutes from me - I picked some up this afternoon. It claims to help Carpal Tunnel, so I'll give it a shot!
