Arrrgh, today sucked.

By Rick Levine:

There's no need for you to push so hard at work now, especially if you have been focused on your career ambitions all week. It's not that you can just take the day off, but you can keep your best ideas to yourself for a few more days, giving them a chance to mature. If you share too much of your current thinking today, others may stop listening. Let your patience work in your favor and give your strategy time to develop.

That's good news, because I got 4 hours' sleep last night and then had to sit in a room at the Board of Realtors all day, stifling yawns and coughs. I felt fine when I went to bed around 10 last night, but woke in the night coughing my lungs out. I know it was bad, because Sophie normally sleeps up close to my shoulder, but the coughing drove her under the covers, away from me. (Murphy was on the floor in his own little bed, so his farts were not a factor in my lungs' desire to leave my body in the wee hours.) I had to drag my hacking, sore-throat-y and headache-y butt to an all day thing that was not optional. I lived. I am tired and headache-y and want nothing more than a solid 9 hours of sleep tonight. Another work related task has been checked off the list.

Someday, soon, there will be actual knitting pics. I really am knitting. Or at least thinking of it.

    Hey!
Welcome back to the work! I just spent 4 days in 10 hours meetings. My head is exploding and my back is getting revenge.

But MD Sheep and Wool is tomorrow and I plan to go spend some money on some fiber. And needles. I have been on an acquisition of tiny lace needles.

    Feel better soon.
