The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming...and Sophie is barking out the window.
Thanks for all the sweet comments about my blog plans! I didn't intend to stop blogging here, but I'd been mulling how to keep my pleasant Bossy Little Doghouse from becoming an extension of my Real World Identity. Not that I'm trying to be secret, but, yanno, I'd feel weird about posting about Sophie barking out the window to people who don't know me and just want to shop for real estate. So I will continue to try to keep my work life out of Chez Bossydogs, and we'll see how that goes.
Anyway, back to the stars of the blog: Sophie is enjoying the open windows and warm temps - she has taken up her post on the back of the chair near the front window, and announces everything she sees: "There's a kid on a scooter!" "Hey, the two shih-tsus next door are out walking with their daddy!" "Somebody's taking out the garbage!" "Wow, looks like the guy across the street bought groceries!" Don't ask me why opening the windows made her go all Neighborhood Watchdog, but obviously the sounds and smells are SOOOOO much more exciting than the visual alone. She's been watching out the window since the furniture arrived, but now she has to narrate everything she sees until she wears out and snores. I'd just been priding myself on how my dogs are the least barky in the entire neighborhood, but once again, I have to eat my words. Fortunately, she has a rather soft, gruff little bark, not a shrill yap, so I don't think it carries beyond these walls - and if it does, she's still the quietest town crier in the complex.
Murphy is doing well, btw - looks like the very expensive dental surgery really did make a difference. I don't want to eat my words yet again so I won't say it's made all the difference, but I've seen a noticeable improvement in his energy, attitude and yes, the all-important Quality of Pooping in the last few days. The coming of spring may account for the first two, but I doubt open windows and fresh air fixed the other.
Am I knitting? Not much. I'm working on a second sundress for Grandgirl, and it's a lovely color, if made from the most annoyingly splitty poorly plied cotton yarn. I need to get back to some other projects and get 'em done, because I'm becoming way too project monogamous. Life is just too busy to succumb to startitis, but I could use a good blast of finish-itis.

La Sophie is just waaay too cute! Glad SOMEONE is getting the warm weather, heh. Shoulda stayed in AVL...
ReplyDeleteGlad spring has sprung! Pictures of the sundress?
I just clicked on the photo and embiggend, and what I thought was a streak of sunshine on Sophies's chest is her reflective harness! Must go get some caffeine and my glasses.
ReplyDeleteMy girl has floor to ceiling windows in our condo, but really does not like being high up. She doesn’t care for the balcony, and hates having the windows open because the wind makes noise. She is so weird sometimes.

Maybe Sophie thought everything outdoors was just tv, and now that it has smells, it's real?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are being so promising.
