Camp Canine, Day One

Layla and Dudley are staying with me while their parents are in Asheville. They've made themselves at home.



The bare dirt in the backyard was just as enticing as I thought it would be:








Which is why I kept the pond through their visit. The Rolling and Wrestling and Digging Sand Pit is now closed.





Layla is a pretty girl and very, very sweet, but still a puppy - at 7 months, she has endless energy and not much impulse control. She's obsessed with Boris, and follows him through the house. He tolerates her, but would like to know when she's going home.



Sophie and Layla are crazy about each other:



Though we do have issues with Layla trying to fit under tables and chairs to chase her. I spend a lot of time yelling, "HEY!" and trying to keep her away from the end tables. Sophie knows Layla can't follow her under the table legs, but apparently Layla doesn't. It's all fun and games until somebody breaks a lamp.

More later, or tomorrow - it's suddenly quiet. I need to see what they're up to.
