Still alive

Just working a lot, pulled in all directions putting out fires and moving projects forward and coming home without enough words to rant about all of the things that flit through my tired brain. I've let a number of rants go in the last few days. I'm cultivating detachment, and I may be getting too Zen to Blog.

Knitting: Arrgh. I don't have enough yarn for a decent length Red-Scarf-Scarf, so I'm going to have to fall back and punt and send this one to Dulaan, because it will be quite fine for a 10 year old, but stubby for a college student.

Rain: Aaaah. We are getting a lot of it tonight, and we need it. I love rain, and I hate the weatherbunnies who get all fwowny when we have a wainy day, because we have a huge rainfall deficit for the year and we need to replenish the groundwater on which we are dependent. The Floridan Aquifer is our friend, and it is thirsty. We need a wainy day.

Learn to be perky when it rains, because it is a happy thing, which you would know if you really paid attention to serious things and didn't aim our local news at tourists who bitch when it rains at Disney.

And after a couple of chilly days, it's warm and humid again. Knitting seems silly unless it's for charity.

  1. I LOVE rainy days--they're the best. I tell people it's because I was a mold spore in a prevous life.

    And yes, I do get weird looks . . . .

  2. Lawsee yes! What is it with weather people that even in a drought they chirp cheerily "Another BeeYouTeeFul day in the captial, today". When I hear that I want to wide their heads with duct tape.

Sweet sweet ground water - stay with us at least one generation more. Besides, rain means you can stay indoors and knit. Or daydream. or sleep. At least, if it's a weekend.

    Cheers.
