I went Christmas shopping

and bought a couple of gifts for myself, like this lovely new girly Franklin planner, because the old one was so big and heavy it hurt my wrist to lift it, and also because this one is just so lovely and girly and soft, soft leather. And it's red. And the planner pages are all soft and girly too. It makes me happy.

And this lovely big roomy tote bag. I love this bag, it is wide enough to hold all of my crap and has a strap long enough to put over my shoulder, and of course has the all-important outside pocket for the phones.

And I had a wild impulse and pulled out some linen and started a couple of washcloths. Both patterns are from Knitter's Stash. The wonky corner on the bound-off edge of the lace one will correct itself in the wash, when the edge relaxes and the whole thing flattens out, it's not nearly as misshapen as it looks in the photo. The unfinished washcloth is garter rib. I really like this for washcloths, because it has enough texture to hold liquid soap.

It's 80 degrees here today and it's really hard to think about knitting with anything but linen or cotton, ever again. I've been reading a lot of blogger oaths about knitting from stash - the rules vary, but there is a general opinion that stash can be too large. I know mine is. I'm not taking any oaths, though - I have been fairly restrained for months and I'm plodding through knitting from stash. I think another round of yarn donations may be in order too.

And it is the week before Christmas and I am sneezing, and I have just the barest hint of a sore throat, and today I was so very, very tired I could barely drag myself around. If I get sick this week I'm going to be so pissed because I have so much to do at work and with family and friends. I spent today resting, knitting and consuming liquids in the hope of reversing this oncoming train, but several people in my office were sick as dogs for weeks, so I do not hold much hope. Right now I have a big mug of Bigelow Sweet Dreams tea in front of me (my favorite) and I'm going to try to hold off until 9 before I hit the Nyquil.

I apologize for the extremely boring boringness of this post, my brain is severely fogged in tonight. Posted by Picasa

  3. just so you know, nyquil took the decongestant out of their formula so they could stay out in the open. i bought some generic stuff from behind the counter, and it works much better. hope you get some rest.

and if you wanna get rid of some stash, i'd be willing to take some off your hands ;)
