I'm IN!

Knitting Special Olympics. Thanks for the link Amie (see Rose By Any in sidebar, she's the greatest). I am laughing because GM truly do TA, I was thinking of this VERY contest when I saw the Knitting Olympics thing. I am a carpal-tunnel-challenged, time-challenged, sanity-challenged knitter. I will join the knitting Special Olympics, and make a charity baby blanket. I will work on it while watching the Olympics. I probably won't finish it during the Olympics, but it will go to charity when done just the same. It will be just as meaningful to me as if I'd busted my wrists trying to do the Other Competition. I love it. I'll use the Longmeadow I bought from WEBS, I'll report if it's truly Cotton-ease-like. There ya go. I'm in.

  2. I knit more for charity than I do for anything else, and this just killed me because when I was reading the Knitting Olympics thang, I just kept thinking, "But I need a Special Olympics!" I knit because I love to do it, not to win gold medals for my degree of difficulty.

  4. Yeah, I thought about doing the baby blanket for the "regular" knitting Olympics, but I really don't need the self-inflicted carpal tunnel flare-up for an artificial deadline. I'll get it done as quickly as I can, that'll have to do.

  6. Well, I'm just using Steph's Olympics as an excuse to make a pair of wildly complicatedly patterned socks that I was thinking about a lot anyway. I'm looking forward to hearing your review of the Longmeadow too, it sounds great in the catalogue.
