Harry Reid - my new hero.

Just nodding along with Hunter. And doesn't Frist sound JUST like a whiny adolescent drama queen when he doesn't get his way? It was all flouncing and slammed doors after Uncle Harry gave them a good talking to. Love it!

Second hilarity of the week, so far - the Swiftboating of the Democrats over the alleged "Italian-American" issue. Apparently - who knew? - Italian is now a RACE. The accusations of "racial slurs" coming out of the apparently very very Wonder Bread Right are just killing me. And who knew again? It turns out my internet crush Hunter is Italian, which makes him even hotter.

And how comically clueless and uber-WASP is the WSJ, when they are baffled by a SCREENNAME and assume all Italian names end in vowels? Of course, we encountered that during our brief tenure in NC, when our short, easily pronounced Italian surname caused no end of confusion among the locals - I'm used to having to spell it, because there are various ways to spell it, but pronounce it? Over and over?

Thank you for all the kind words on the loss of Natasha. We're still somewhat in shock, it happened so fast - and the saddest part is seeing the other animals looking for her. Dudley is used to greeting her with a kiss while she perched on a kitchen chair (and glared at him with eyes that were shooting Death Rays, of which he was cheerfully oblivious). Yesterday he walked all around the kitchen, checking the chairs, the shelves - looking for her. Sniff.

Much to blog about - menopausal weight gain (I can now gain weight in my sleep) and a long-term career plan, and homeownership bitching, and, yes, knitting, I swear - but real life is taking its toll on me. Every day I think about how I've got to clean this dump, organize my important papers, take stuff to Goodwill, and fix this blog - update the sidebar, maybe try a new look? And the days fly by and it doesn't get done. I'm taking a time management course next week, we'll see if I can learn anything from it. Unless it comes with Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine, I think I'm just going to have to keep muddling through.
