when training dogs. Tonight I changed the sheets and had to deal with a Boston on the bed in the process, so I said, as many of us would, "Get Down!" and he assumed a down position on the bed. And it made me laugh, because that illustrates dog operator error so well - obviously he's learned what "down" means, and I should have said, "OFF the bed!" Because "off" and "down" are two totally different concepts. I said, "OFF the bed!" and he got off the bed.
{Now he's on the bed again, talking to the dog in the mirror.)
Yup. Except in my house that error means you have a fifty pound ball of muscle and bone slamming into your gut instead of getting off the couch. He doesn't just "down" he full-force belly flops.

ReplyDeleteLove the dog stories-- still waiting until its practical to get one of my own.
ReplyDeleteSince you're loving the linen, can I ask... what type of garments would it be good for? I bought some a while ago that I don't know what to do with... but your love of linen is inspiring me....
