It's 50 degrees. FIFTY! A cold front blew through midday yesterday and left us with low humidity, not a cloud in the sky, and a lovely cool breeze. After months of heat and humidity and rain, rain, rain, it's like walking out into a different world. I am going to spend as much time outdoors as possible this weekend, walking, doing yard work, riding my bike, and the windows will be wide open this afternoon when it warms up a bit. The dog needs a bath. My car needs a bath. Home Depot and Costco first thing this morning. So much to do, so little of it interesting, but even doing chores is pleasant on a day like this.

It's not going to stay this cool- by the end of next week we'll be back into the mid-60s at night and mid-80s during the day. I'm enjoying this to the fullest while it lasts.

I'm one row from casting off on the Harlot poncho. I'm still on the fence about fringing, so I figured I'd purl two rows before casting off - that should keep it from curling (not that this yarn is very curl-prone) and it gives a finished bottom edge that echoes the top. I hope it's long enough - I think it's going to be wrist/hip length when my arms are at my sides, but I'm having trouble visualizing the impact of boobular displacement while it's all scrunched up on the needle. It will be done today, then it's time to get back to work on the plain vanilla cardie. Everything I'm working on is neutral, neutral, neutral. I need to cast on something small and colorful for variety - the fingerless Koigu gloves sound like the ticket. Or maybe a bright kid-sized hat for charity.

I'm off to walk, sans my little sidekick, who is only good for one long walk a day, then make my shopping list and head out to enjoy this weekend.
