Day One of Catherine's Three Day Self Indulgence Festival didn't get off to such a great start - major insomnia woke me at 3 a.m. So I knitted, and finally watched Farenheit 911. (Just call me wait for video girl.) I'm not a huge Moore fan, I think he gets rather heavy-handed and clumsy to make his point at times, but he stays in the background for most of the movie and lets the film footage he gathered mostly speak for itself. Bush in unscripted moments should be enough to scare the crap out of anybody. The scenes from Iraq are totally heartbreaking, as are the young soliders without arms and legs in the military hospital.

I hope this election isn't really as close as it seems. I have to wonder about the huge swell of newly registered, first time voters who aren't being counted in these polls.

I was going to go to the NSLYS today, but a brief tour of the yarn stash convinced me that this would be insane. I found more Koigu that I honestly forgot I had - is yarn buying like binge drinking, am I now having Yarnaholic blackouts?? It's not ideal for the green coat, but it'd make gorgeous gloves, and honestly, I'd be better off buying a new coat than more yarn at this point. It's that crazy.

I am going to the bead store - actually, I may go to two bead stores. I've known about Bead Bar for years, it's a local fixture. I probably haven't been in it for 5 years. Time to make up for that. Then while Googling I found a new shop I didn't even know existed: The Bead Lounge. My plan for today - beads and books (but no yarn) and any other non-essential, non Home Depot type shopping that strikes me, followed by a bike ride and a bubble bath. Beads, books, bike, bubble bath - today is brought to you by the letter B.

Murphy says it's time to go walk.
