The shopping gods have been appeased by the weeping and wailing of the female shopping masses. There is hope. I found clothes, and on sale, even. Not a lot of clothes, but I am easily excited at this point. Ann Taylor had a pair of tan linen blend slacks on sale, a chocolate brown surplice neck top to go with them, both with just enough lycra to make them fit nicely and not bag and look like wrinkled messes, and a lovely black v-neck sleeveless dress and a matching cardigan in a fine knit with very simple detailing, also on sale. That will be the "wow the new client" or job interview dress, I am now outfitted for either contingency. Of course, that's a casual and a professional outfit, that's all I scored, but it felt like a huge accomplishment to find colors and styles I'd wear. I also bought a pair of lower-heeled sandals in brown at Aerosoles. I love the 3 inch heeled pair in black, you'd never believe shoes that high could be so comfortable all day long but they really are. These are a two inch heel, similar style, chocolate brown and on sale. I couldn't pass it up. Since I haven't heard from Home Improvement Guy (either the lighting hasn't come in or maybe his wife had the baby?) I don't think they'll be here tomorrow so I can go hunting again after Mass, this time at the Marshall's and Ross level. One can only do so much Ann Taylor, even on sale.
Then the stores filled up with enormous groups of meandering tourists and I had to flee, because my Evil PMS Fairy was urging me to affix "Slow Moving Vehicle" signs to their wide asses with a nail gun. Lucky for them I had neither the signs nor the gun.
So to calm down I hit the NSLYS and bought four skeins of Cascade 220, yellow, coral, salmon and lilac. Yes, I know, it sounds so Lilly, but they're more muted than the screaming Lilly tones, and I have a couple of blobs of cool soft blues and greens to toss in to cool it down even further. I gave up on the first iteration of the felted zippered bag from Weekend Knits, not because of the pattern, but my yarn scraps on hand just weren't working for me. So I'm crazy enough to buy yarn to make a project that should be made from yarn scraps, I don't care, I will use the rest of the skeins on a dresser set or some other felting project.
