The Yard Boys tore through the backyard yesterday, as the photo one entry below attests. The yard trash truck comes Wednesday morning - they may have to slow down on their progress until we can get the bags below out of the way. I need to look into ordering sod, but I have no idea how much to order. The backyard is small and the areas that will become a patio and planting areas won't be getting sodded, so I'm thinking a couple of pallets to start and then go from there. I would rather have too much than too little, I have bare patches in the front yard that can use the excess, but I don't want a whole pallet left over. It's so great to see it move along in a big jump like this, those boys did what would have taken me forever in about five hours. I'm having fantasies of a patio with table and chairs and a new grill, and a nice comfy chair and side table under the big tree, near the pond. I doubt I'll be sitting outside this year - we're having an unseasonable cool spell but the heat is on its way, and by the time the sod is down it will no doubt be humid and miserable again. But the patio and grill will get a workout no matter how hot it is, I love to cook outside.

Critter Knitter Blanket One:

Exciting, isn't it? No, even I don't think so. But it is warm and cushy and a cat or small dog will appreciate it, and that's why I'm making them. (It actually is square, it just looks trapezoidal in the photo because I was too lazy to go back and take a better picture. I mean, it's a square of garter stitch, what do you want, ART?)

Knit Picks has links to charity knitting sites on its entry page this month.

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday - one week until my knit shopping fast ends. I've seen a couple of new books I'm tempted to buy, like Knitting into the Mystery and the new Debbie Bliss home book. I'm not strongly tempted by yarn - I'm still too shocked and embarrassed after taking inventory of my personal stash to think of buying more yarn.

The new Knitty is up (as if you all didn't already jump into it) and as usual the bag is the first thing that caught my eye Sueet Suede. The bag is adorable, but even more eye-catching is the poncho-wrap-whatever it is the model is wearing in that photo - anybody know what that IS? I love the colors! I like several of the patterns, haven't gotten around to the articles yet, but as usual Knitty was far superior to the latest Vogue Knitting.

Time for a few minutes on the latest critter blankie before starting my day. Happy Weekend!
