Eating breakfast and making a to-do list and reading blogs and blogging. Multi-tasking is my life. Gotta figure out what I'm wearing this weekend, figure out what I'm baking, figure out how to transport it and also where to store it so it's not sitting in a hot car in the Miami sun while we're working tomorrow. Or maybe I'll wuss out and bring chips and drinks and other non-perishables. That would be easier, but it seems so lazy. Gotta clean the house, buy cat litter, clean the catboxes, leave Boy reminders about watering the tomato plants (one day of wind and low humidity and sun can cook them) tonight. Still have to figure out where I'm picking up the Boss - I'm driving on this trip because he's carless. It's a sad long story involving a temperamental foreign convertible that I suspect is at automotive death's door (he's in denial) and it makes for some complicated logistics, and I'm still not quite sure how it's going to work, but I'm driving.
It's just a one night trip so I don't need to pack much - I figure the Critter Knitters blankie will be more than enough knitting to tote on this outing. It doesn't bother my wrist and it's mindless and yet fun. I may bring a second skein of Homespun (in purples) just in case the insomnia kicks in and I'm up way too early and finish the first blankie. I'm using the basic Diagonal Knitted Baby Blanket free pattern, same as other Critter Knitters. I know a lot of people complain about LB Homespun and say it hurts their hands to knit it - I am using an Inox aluminum circular and I'm having no problems with it, even with my tender wrist.
I'm staying right on Miami Beach tomorrow night and don't have to be anywhere until 1 p.m. on Saturday, so I'm envisioning a lovely relaxing morning on the beach, people watching and knitting a cat blanket. Some people go to Miami Beach for South Beach clubbing til dawn, I look forward to getting up at dawn and knitting on the beach.
