I miss my cable. It's hard to sit and knit on my bed, watching the only tv that gets even snowy reception.
Meanwhile, the new VK - I'm finally getting around to reading articles - I'm sorry, is the Darryl Hannah article meant to be a spoof of the celebrity knitting trend? It's so goofy, it's embarrassing. She can only knit, she can't purl. She makes only scarves, so I think that means shaping anything is also not in her skill set. Perhaps someone should take pity on her and tell her about the book The Knit Stitch, so she can make something that isn't a scarf, even if she is too hopelessly dense to purl. She does use "themes" in her design - I interpret this to mean that she buys expensive yarns and her theme is "pink cashmere" and the like. Oh, and they are very long. The most alarming quote of all: "On the set of a new movie, she taught actress Dominique Swain a few knitting tricks..." How the hell could Darryl-who-can't-purl teach anybody a knitting trick? What the hell was the trick? And does this mean that there are actually Celebrity Knitters even dumber than she is? The mind boggles. Didn't anybody at VK question how this silly article about this vapid pseudo-knitter would be received by its readers?
