Yeah, I don't disagree with the Snopes spin, except that I know how flash reports are worshipped, and a flash that shows an anomaly on That Thursday will not be entirely dismissed. I don't expect any public reaction, but I can see the value of a kick in the flash.
You know, upon reflection I take that back - I do disagree with the Snopes spin in that they apparently have never seen pre-emptory pants-wetting over flash reports - it matters more than they think it does. People get paid big bucks just to analyze daily trends, and a one-day\drop on that particular day is not going to go unnoticed. This is hardly storming the Bastille, but it's a quiet, very easy to join, painless way of transmitting a message.
