Merry Christmas!

I'm cooking a traditional Christmas dinner, at my guests' request. I'm shamelessly taking shortcuts, though, because it's too hot to spend hours in the kitchen. Other than baking banana bread to use up some borderline rotten bananas,I'm not really "cooking," as much as heating things up, but it will be festive. There's fresh baked banana bread and coffee for breakfast (Sophie approves of banana bread) and Santa brought her a lovely new pink harness, so the neighbors will stop addressing her as "him." She has some new chewies in her stocking, too. It's hot and humid and feels nothing at all like Christmas - the A/C is running 24/7 again - but we're getting our Florida Christmas on.

Your tree looks lovely. Have a great day, and give Sophie a big smooch from me and Basie. Merry Christmas!

The tree is beautiful, even if it was a PITA to put up. Hope you have a lovely day, and try not to sweat too much. We are sweltering in DC too- 98% humidity, swinging between soupy fog and rain. Not quite as hot as you, but still mightily unpleasant. Here's to lots of food and fun with the family. Kimmen

  3. Weather Channel says "feels like" is 92. Official is 85. Delaney took her new Nerf bow and "arrows" out back on the golf course, and even she gave up in a few minutes. It's August hot. I've had 30+ years of FL Christmases, and this is freaky.
