Update from the von Phlegm Family Singers.

I am not as sick as everybody else (yet) so we'll put that down as a tentative win for Cold-Eeze.

I say tentative, because I still have a headache and a cough, but I'm not a disgusting festival of mucous (yet).  I'm just a little bit disgusting, and it's mostly a post-nasal drip/cough, and the aforementioned headache.  I'm hoping that this is as bad as it gets.

Miss D was still sick when she woke up today and this has dragged on far too long.  Her mom took her to urgent care, where she was declared the proud owner of a double ear infection.  Her mom was the queen of ear infections as a child, but always showed the signs - grabbing ears, tugging on ears, and on one very memorable occasion, throwing herself down on the living room rug screaming and holding both ears as if they'd just been punctured with an ice pick.  That infection came on so fast - fine at breakfast, on the floor after lunch -  by the time Dr. C saw her an hour later (they rushed her in) one eardrum was nearly ruptured.  She was the Ear Infection Queen, so we do know all about ear infections around these parts.  Miss D didn't give us a clue, and we were watching.  But we now know that any episode of copious snot is probably going to lead to one, just as it did for her mom, so mom will be ready to jump on it.

I'm going to bed at stupid o'clock tonight, accompanied by a big mug of herbal tea and Vicks Vaporub. I may dodge this speeding snot truck yet.

For what it's worth, I had ear infections CONSTANTLY as a child and I NEVER had ear pain with mine...

  2. Yeah, apparently Delaney doesn't either, or if she did, she didn't let us know. She did seem miserable, but when your nose is running like a waterfall as hers was, that's enough to make anyone miserable.
