And We Walked, and Walked!!

There is no agenda for this trip, just hanging out. (Oh, and bringing back good local beer.) I go home tomorrow. I think today we are visiting a Jewish food festival downtown, then later my son has to work and I may go out and take pictures, unless my daughter in law has another plan. The fall colors are fabulous.

Yesterday we walked. I took Sophie for an early walk around the neighborhood , then we took another, longer one with my son and Supergirl.  We walked an hour at little dog and little person pace.  Then after lunch we took a long walk to a nearby lake.

That's when Sophie started thinking this trip was a bad idea. She already had walked more than she had all summer. The last one was just too much. I had to carry her most of the way. It did have the desired effect of making her too tired to care if I left the house without her for the rest of the day, but I won't put her through it again today. We went to bed at 10 and I just woke up, so the exercise and fresh air have helped us both. And of course helped mitigate the damage of all of these non-low-fat, non-vegan meals.

Aside from feeling walked to death, Sophie is having a lovely time visiting. I am too. The new house is very cute and in a really nice little neighborhood . Everyone is happy and healthy. Tomorrow we go home, and I actually feel this visit has been long enough to recharge my batteries and refocus. Just what I needed.
