My internet connection is still randomly puking on me, and Bright House acknowledges that there is a signal issue. Today a tech was supposed to show up between 3 and 5 to make it all better. He got here very late, so I get $20 credit on my next bill. He spent a good hour doing this and that inexplicable thing, and it worked fine when he left, and I ate dinner and came in to check email, and...the cable light on the modem was dark again. AND he put some sort of weird and I suspect useless splitter thingy on the cable that I cannot imagine serves any purpose at all except to make it impossible for the cable modem to sit flat on the shelf. It's now perched awkwardly on the router, like it's drunkenly contemplating a leap to the floor. And of course this modem and router worked just fine from the day I moved in and plugged it in until two weeks ago, so why this is now a mystery is...a mystery.
A tech is supposed to show up again tomorrow between 1 and 3. My question tomorrow will be slightly different - can you just MOVE the modem and router to a different outlet if it has a better signal? I'm flexible, I just want my shit to work - if the stuff in this room gets a signal and works reliably, I really don't give a damn if the modem and router are on top of the fridge or under the bed. Just make it work. It worked since the day I moved in and now it doesn't. Make it work. Thxbai.
On to the important subject - Sophie is doing great. I swear metronidazole is a wonder drug. She had ONE dose with dinner and slept through the night without waking me at 2 a.m. with a desperate Urgency. Her poop is solid and back on a normal schedule already. The vet tech called today to see how she was doing because Dr. Maureen was concerned, and I was able to report that all was normal and great. We may never know what caused the upsettedness, but it's gone. My money is on squirrel poop or otherwise similar fascinating yuck snorked up on a walk.
My daughter brought Delaney over for a visit this afternoon, and since Daddy was working a double shift they stayed for cable repair drama and dinner, so they had Miss D to love on for HOURS. Both dogs are so exhausted, this room is filled with small and squeaky (Murphy) and deep unladylike (Sophie) snores.
Bet you never though poop would loom so large in your life once the kids were grown! Glad everybody is feeling better-- have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHa! Right on Joan!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I'm catching up so will probably be here for hours. You are very GOOD MEDICINE, you know that, right?
