I went to the mailbox today (we have gang mailboxes in the condos, of course) and found a key in mine. A Mystery Package! I was pretty sure I hadn't been drunk-shopping online in a long time, and I honestly had NO idea what it was.
It was a fairly heavy box from Random House. WTF???
I wrestled it home, juggling the rest of the mail, two dogs on leashes, and the box, and after we made it up the stairs and in the door and I unleashed the hounds from hell, I opened the box.
I'd totally forgotten this (possibly there was wine involved at the time, or lack of morning coffee) but I apparently signed up to be a Karin Slaughter Ambassador. Karin Slaughter's publisher very creatively came up with an idea of giving away the first Will Trent book to her fans, so they could in turn give them away and get more people hooked on Karin and of course Will. Great idea, isn't it?
I have
I'll never be a cool blogger. If you want one of these books I'll send it via Media Mail, $3 should cover mailing and at least part of the cost of the envelope. Email me at bossylittledogATyahooDOTcom and I'll send you a paypal invoice. I am NOT making any profit on "resale" - I know media mail charges and $3 is just enough to cover shipping and maybe half the envelope. This offer is good for 5 days - speak now or you're SOL. Any leftovers will be displayed on the counter at the condo pool, with a "Free Summer Reading!" sign (and a disclaimer about the graphic violence in the book) - but I'm offering them here first if anyone's interested.
I have only read one of her books "Beyond Reach". I enjoyed the book but I was devastated by the ending...I mean was that really necessary???
ReplyDeleteAh, I know which book you mean by the devastating ending - my daughter and I read the series in order, and when we got to that one we were both just stunned by the ending.
ReplyDeleteAre these better if you read them in order? I just downloaded the first one in audiobook form from my library. It is in the mid-90's here and crazy humid---good weather to stay in the A/C and knit *little* things for next winter. (It's hard to envision wearing them when it's so miserably hot/humid outside.)
ReplyDeleteBrenda.
This book is the first Will Trent book, so it doesn't have to be read in order, but if you read the Grant County books in order it'll all tie together later.
