Hurry Up and Wait.

This week has gotten off to an expensive, frustrating, messy, wonderful start.

Expensive: I signed my life away to the Board of Realtors.

Frustrating: My promised MLS access hasn't been activated yet. Neither has my office email, though I do have access to the company intranet.

Messy: After his vigorous ball game in the park, Murphy woke me at 2:30 a.m., exploding from both ends like he was starring in a tiny doggy version of The Exorcist. I've suspected for a while that excitement triggered upsets, now it appears unusual activity may, too. I went back to sleep (stalwartly ignoring the carpet stains - they would still be there in the morning) and got up to clean carpet before going to the Board to sign my life away, and then to the office for a useful class on farming. (Not the kind involving crops.)

Wonderful: My daughter sent me this picture of my itty bitty granddaughter! Yes! She's a SHE! They've already named her Piper - I don't know if that name will stick, but I like it, and it beats calling her "Baby."

Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins are all thrilled to see you, Piper! This grandma can now officially start shopping and knitting!

The ultrasound is amazing---congratulations on everything and get those knitting needles cranking, Grandma. I hope our little man Murphy is feeling better soon. It will be interesting when Piper is born to see if her facial features resemble the ultrasound pictures at all, like the shape of her face or mouth.

  3. @Brenda - I doubt she will - she has a lot of growing to do and was moving a lot when the pics were taken. I wouldn't try to pick her out of a lineup with that. :-)

Great photo, another girl! That's great, congrats, Grandma! Sorry to hear about Murphy, poor baby, he must have been absolutely miserable (and I'm sure you weren't very happy as well).

  5. I love the name Piper! Unusual, and sweet! I bet you can't wait to meet her in person - she is gorgeous.

I hope poor little Murphy is feeling better. Give him some extra kisses and hugs from me and Casey!

  6. Piper's name has already been reconsidered. I'm not going to share any more possible names until they fill in her birth certificate. :-)
