Just when I was despairing that EVERYBODY in the Republican party had gone back for seconds on the Krazy Kool-Aid, Alan Simpson makes me laugh and nod along with every word and want to hug him. There is common ground! Who knew?
I think he's probably in the "Oh, screw it, I'm an old man and sick of the crap," stage of his political life, and I am sure I disagree with him on a lot of other things, but this was just so damn refreshing! When EVERYBODY speaking for the Republican party appears to have gone totally over to kissing the homophobic, xenophobic, racist, anti-woman extreme right, he was a voice for sanity. I really wanted to hug him.
I agree. I didn't think there were many Republicans out there with guts to talk this way. Bravo to him.
