Why yes, I'm still here.

I had an epiphany in the shower yesterday. I credit the effect of those negative ions even from a crappy cheap old shower head. I realized that I didn't have to shut off cable today, but could leave it until Saturday.

My house is packed. My washing machine is disconnected, thanks to the strong forearms of the lovely bride, who was able to turn off the hot water and disconnect that hose after some Lucy and Ethel style flailing around in squirting water. She's also taking a couple of lamps I was moving only because I felt I should, but had no use for - they'll work as their nightstand lamps.

The moving van will arrive between 9 and 11 tomorrow morning. I'm ready...ish. I have a few minor things to scoop into boxes in the morning, but yeah, it's all ready...ish. Between 6 and 9 in the morning there will be a frenzy of unplugging and unhooking and last minute packing, but after that, it's off my plate and on the truck. Tomorrow night the plan is dinner with Bride and Groom, to celebrate the completion of this part of the process. Saturday is for cleaning, and then I hope to move on to Cousin C's, for the next stage of the relocation.

Even my arrival in AVL is easier - I'll be there on Monday, and Monday is the day that the office staff at the apartment complex works later because they do a Monday pizza party for residents - though I still plan to be there between 3 and 4. I'd hoped that the moving van would arrive on the following day, but the driver has a pick-up in Miami on the 15th, so there is no way they'll deliver my stuff on the 16th without bending the space-time continuum. I'll be ready/fine for a couple of days of roughing it.

Cousin C shared a few of the photos she snapped with her little Nikon Coolpix. Here's one she took of the First Dance:

I just love the glow on the groom's face - he who doesn't smile for cameras easily is just lit up and so handsome in these pictures. (The bride looks amazing, but she never takes a bad picture.)

Thank you for keeping us all posted. For some reason (I think it was on my end) I couldn't get to your blog the other day and I actually panicked for minute because I thought I was going to miss out on the moving story.

Your daughter looks like a movie star, and the groom's pretty sweet too!

    Have fun on your move!

  4. I'm glad you've got family moving in, so you can come back and see the house still the same, but not yours. Easier to move on, I'd think.
    Enjoy!
