And I'm following the progress of labor via text message. This is a 21st century birth, after all. So I'll hold my rant on the subject of "WHY can't the same very good hair stylist create the same very good hairstyle two times in a row??" for another time. My hair doesn't suck, but I can't wait to shampoo it and style it myself. Then we'll see what we have here, yanno?
Yay baby. When it comes to hairstyles, I've found that same thing. And if you are lucky enough to find a good stylist, they eventually either leave/move without notice or they get tired of doing your hair the way YOU like and start making you a new style of their own preference. At least that has been my experience. I recently had to change stylists again.
ReplyDeleteOh GAWD. Half my hair stylists went into the witness protection program; the other half started doing whatever suited them to my head! The Hair God gave me many perfect cuts and saw me through having half my head shaved, for goddsake; you'd think that would be an unbreakable bond of trust. Then, after three iffy haircuts in a row, last summer he gave me a haircut that took about six months of looking like dog crap to grow out. Truly an unmanageable mess. Hair Girl did a great job, um, 3x in a row. Today, I wanted what she did last time - and we are not talking rocket science, it's short layered bob, your basic Corporate Lady Hair. Now my hair is flat and lank and there are these disturbingly precious pointy points at my jawline and, I fear, stacked layers in the back. I'm thinking the flat and lank will shampoo out in the morning, and we'll see what I have to do with it to go to work. Don't you LOVE that sort of suspense?
ReplyDeleteAs they say here in Aggieland "Whoop", as a way to congratulate you on grandbaby.
ReplyDeleteDD just got most of her hair chopped off in what was supposed to be a trim appointment. Normally, I love what the stylist does with her hair, but this time.....
Why is this so iffy? I'm not one of those overly fussy people who can agonize over a millimeter invisible to the average eye. But the weight of my hair changed this time and now I have to learn to style it all over again, and I have enough shit to think about already.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations (only a little early) Grandma! Enjoy the precious little bundle. Feed her unsuitable food, keep her up through her nap time, and hand her back cranky and spoiled!
ReplyDeleteWoooHOOO! soon to be baby grandma!
