I've been shopping.

I survived IKEA - got in as it opened, got what I went for (plus a couple of random things) and got out. By the time I was leaving, the huge parking lot was jammed and people were circling and hovering for my parking space. Ugh. But I found the bottles and a couple of flower pots and a new toothbrush holder set for my bathroom. Oh, and the softest floppy stuffed golden retriever for the baby.

The other baby wants it in the worst way:

"What do you mean, it's not for me?"

And SuperTarget yielded the cutest little outfit:

That's not for him either. He did get some of his insanely expensive chicken treats.

Excitement is building about the grand-girl, I can tell! I'm with you on IKEA, although I like a few of their things, like bookshelves, the rest is c**p. Even though the place gives me high blood pressure, they are some of the worlds experts on store design to maximize sales. You have to hand it to them- they do not let you out without parting you from some cash.
Cute baby outfit too. Stay warm in your Florida house not built for cold. I was never so cold in my life as living in the south, where they don't build to deal with it. When I moved to the mid-atlantic, I finally can get warm in winter!

  2. Oh, I've been picking up baby things when something strikes me - Macy's yielded a bunch of cute outfits on sale around Christmas, then Beall's after Christmas sale - a turquoise and white sundress with embroidered flowers and flamingos along the hem; how could I resist? (It's not as garish as it sounds.) I agree about IKEA 100% - it's deliberately laid out to leave you wandering in circles, and 90% of their stuff is ugly crap. There are some practical things and some cute things mixed in, and of course their bookcases are the best thing they do. I wanted those cheap bottles with the stoppers and some flowerpots, and the only other thing I bought was that stuffed dog.

  3. Oh, and EXACTLY about the cold house that never gets warm! Houses here are mostly focused on keeping out/shedding heat. Keeping it in is rarely needed. Heat pumps are of limited value in cold like this; the damn thing never shuts off, yet the house never gets warm.

  4. Teh cutz, BLD haz it! better guard that retriever carefully. I foresee stealth attacks in someone's future...

  5. The retriever is safely stowed on a shelf way above his reach, and will be dispatched to AVL in a week or so. BLD has already given it up for lost.

  6. The look on Murphy's face in the second picture is just priceless.

  7. That is his Offended face. He was offended enough to actually do it while I held the camera. He usually turns his head at the click of the shutter because he hates the flash, but he was Truly Miffed About This and continued glaring while I snapped the picture.

  9. That first photo of Murphy is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen about a dog. That is hallmark card cute.

The second one reminds me so much of this book
