In addition to "Obama Derangement Syndrome," I think we are also dealing with American Narcissistic Disorder - in which everything that happens in the world is judged through a US-centric lens. As Rachel Maddow explains in her patient way, the Nobel Peace Prize awards effort to lead toward peace. It's not like the Lifetime Achievement Award they give at the Oscars. Americans seem to have a really tough time with concepts like this.
