Surgical staples came out today, and the tech put Murphy on the scale - 7.6 pounds! Before and after surgery, he was barely 7.0. Nice! I know he has been eating like a horse, and it's nice to see that his body is actually using all that good food he's been stuffing down his gullet. Murphy's ideal weight is somewhere between 7 and 8 pounds. 7 pounds and below, and he has no reserves to deal with illness. 8 and above, and his knees are working extra hard. We have hit equilibrium! Now the trick is to maintain it. Knock wood for us, Internets! So far, so good!
That is so great! I am really happy for you and of course Murphy.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to have a name for the issue, and a game plan to handle it. I'm not blithely thinking it's over - but with diet and an arsenal of support meds when needed, we may be on the right track.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Go Murphy!
