It's raining, it's pouring,
the little dog is snoring. It's been almost a week (another distracted, busy week) since last post. We are finally getting real rain, steady rain, days of rain - which is awesome, because Florida has been in a Damn Scary Bad Drought for a very long time. I said I wouldn't bitch until we had a foot of rain - okay, we've had it, you can slow down now. I'm fine with a week of rain, which is good, because that's what we are getting. A solid week of noisy, heavy, traffic-snarling, flooded streets rain is a bit over the top. And it takes a whole lot of rain to flood sandy soil - we're at around a foot of rain and still counting. But I'm not complaining. I'm far more scared of the scary drought than I am of the heavy, heavy rain.

Last couple years have been real dry too. The Lake looked awful 10feet down. But we've had a lot of that rain here too, so things are looking good & green. I love listening to the rain.
ReplyDeleteWe are out of rain, and close to out of water.
ReplyDeleteI am really glad to hear that you are getting enough because we don't need another state going up in smoke. Hang in there an knit your way through it, dear. I mean when you aren't working your way to the poor house. That really sucks.
