Another cheery story about the local economy: Hunting for Jobs in Orlando.
If you're sitting up there in a cold, snowy climate, and it has been a long, miserable winter and you are sick of the cold and dreaming of moving to Florida, you might want to reconsider. Unless you are retired - if you are, I have a house to sell you. Two, actually, because it appears that the time to get my mother out of her house and into a senior/quasi assisted living arrangement has arrived. I have enough stress in my own life right now, so of course my mother has to pick this time to have a crisis of her own. I won't go into the details on that, but it's not good for my stress or my own health lately.
So I will try to focus on positive things, like the delicious blueberry smoothie I made this morning - fat free milk, fat free homemade yogurt, a scoop of French Vanilla whey protein powder, a squirt of flaxseed oil, and a big handful of frozen berries. And tea. I love tea. I am drinking a lot of green tea lately, and my favorite at the moment is: Casablanca Twist. I am taking care of myself, trying to tune out the crazy, and visualizing a calm, sane, secure future.
Are you inspired by Purl for the smoothie thing? I was too. I had them every morning when I was pregnant but fell off that habit some how. So glad to be doing them again. I add a big ol' handful of raw baby spinach to mine, I swear you can't taste it (in any other situation I HATE spinach). So, so good!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your mom. That is such a stressful thing to go through. And I think you've had your allotment of stress until 2015.
No, I've been making them for years. My favorite combination is a very ripe banana and a blob of peanut butter, but it's not exactly diet friendly that way.
