I had to share this Truly Historic Moment: After THREE years of resisting sharing the same airspace as Dudley, lest he inhale a molecule tainted by contact with that damn new dog, this evening Higgins conceded that 1) Dudley isn't so bad when he's asleep; and 2) That's a big, comfy chair and Higgins likes it; and 3) Three years is long enough to make his point that he does not care for the dog. And that is a big comfy chair.
And Dudley was fine with this.
Ummm, Maybe Higgins read your last post and decided to give in.

Darn, that IS a big comfy chair... Good for Higgins. It must be the name. It's given him a natural feeling of Superiority, I mean aside from being The Cat.
ReplyDeleteHe came already named, we adopted him when he was about a year old. And I wouldn't say he has a feeling of superiority - this is the most neurotic cat ever. We get a kick out of how he is so surprised and grateful every time we feed him, which has only happened every day for the last 12 years, but each time he is convinced that it will never happen again, and when it does, he has to pause to "say grace" over the food. We have to yell at him to eat, because while he is giving thanks to God that he was fed again, somebody else is eating his food.
