Dudley is home with his mommy, her crazy extended work week finally ended and she has three days off, and it was so cute because he has figured out the routine now. She came to get him and of course had to raid the fridge and hang out for a bit, but he kept going to the front door impatiently. He knows the routine now, she came to take him home, so let's get going! When she picked up his leash he could barely control his joy. He wanted to go home to his house and his "girlfriend," the roommate's Lab mix. Murphy, meanwhile, was delighted to realize that Dudley was leaving, and began pestering to go for a walk before the car pulled away. They enjoy their time together but it's nice to see that each has adapted to living without the other, and when it's time for the visit to end they are both eager to get back to their own routines.
But he will miss his chair and his job as Neighborhood Watchdog. Girl's living room doesn't give him a nice big window on the street.
It was a week of job search frustration, applying for unemployment, packing boxes of things I won't need until I'm moved, and trips to Home Depot. It feels like it is taking for-freaking-ever to get the house ready for sale, but I honestly am making progress on many different fronts at the same time. I think I'm within two weeks of being done with this mess - HD says that it's about two weeks from ordering the carpet to scheduling the installation. I function best with deadlines, and now I am motivated to finish up all the little odds and ends and piddly stuff. I need a schedule.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how Murphy managed to arrange the throw the little monsters stole off the chair into the shape of his body.
Still crocheting hexagons, knitting on a basic sweater, nothing exciting going on around these parts at all. This week may bring doldrums-breaking events. Or not.
you know it's a good thing i was able to enlarge that picture of murphy
ReplyDeletei would NOT for the life of me figure out where the dog was!
btw

who just finished making yogurt and is going to can more ham and potatoes........
Yikes, how did Murphy do that?
ReplyDeleteI don't know - that's why I had to grab the camera! Not only does he blend in with the color of the throw, but he shaped it to his body so effectively he could get himself stepped on!
