Sure, right now you have a lot of tasks that need completing, but you can't let yourself get so caught up in what you need to do that you lose sight of what you already have accomplished. Do not overwhelm yourself by focusing on what is left undone. A healthy sense of accomplishment can only come from reflecting back on the things you have made happen and the problems you have solved. If all you ever do is think about what needs to be done, you'll never build your ego.
Though I've never thought I really need to worry about ego building. I think you have to have a healthy ego to blog - to think that anybody in the big wide Internets gives a damn what you or your cat do all day, or what you think about important things like nail polish, requires an ego. The other day I colored my hair and thought as I was doing it, "I really should blog about this hair color." Sad, but true. Which is why I love, love, love: these and may have to treat myself to a little sumthin'. After all, my horoscope says I need to build my ego. I shall give it treats.
I did get things done today, as proof, I offer Before:
and After:
Several of the remaining items in the "after" view will be heading out on the little red bus to Goodwill tomorrow. I am getting things done, I am not drinking beer in my underwear at noon (an inside joke, sorry) but as my horoscope says, there is so much TO DO, the DONE tends to fade into "so what" right after I finish it.
Boy and his friend are on the road to NC in the little red Sentra even as I type this, and are driving into some Very Inclement Weather. Please keep a good thought for them, it's a long trip in a vehicle that really could use new tires. But at least they got the brakes done without incident this morning - once they had the right tools for the job it was indeed as easy as promised.
So, the after shot wasn't to show that you turned on the lights, eh?
ReplyDeleteSeriously. I understand. You should have heard me let go on what a stupidhead I was to not wear my boots this morning. Gah. Even this stupidhead sees that you're getting ahead.
Same lights, same camera, taken from just about the same spot, honest! If you squint at the Before and then look at the After, shit has left the building. I don't know why one turned out dim and the other brighter, I didn't notice until they were uploaded. I can tell from the camera angle that the after shot was taken maybe six inches to the left of the before, but the difference in lighting is a puzzlement, natural daylight was not a factor. I used the mindless point-n-shoot, it wasn't staged. I don't have the energy for that shit.
ReplyDeleteYes. I need a personality disorder blog mug.

We're on the same blog wavelength. I posted the before pictures of my yarn room a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, no after pictures yet. I thought if I posted the befores, I would surely be inspired to get in there so I could do the afters. It's gonna take sometime (singing a rhythm and blues song in my head).
