He's not dead.

I swear he's breathing. I checked. The white spot on his neck is where his collar rubbed the fur off - his collar was never too tight, he just spent so much time in a sleeping position the hair eventually stopped growing there. He doesn't wear a collar now. It's not like he has the ambition to go outside, except for an occasional stroll on the back patio, and then there is zero chance of him hefting his fat old ass over the fence.

Raise your paw if you're happy that Dudley moved out, and now you can sleep on your mommy's bed all day without suffering the indignity of kissy dog ambushes. (Don't tell him Dudley will be here next weekend.) Higgins is so happy I didn't have the heart to ask him to move so I could make the bed.

  1. you know..........
    i been thinking
if you were working....you would NOT be able to get all the crap done on the house to get it on the market
you would be overtaxing yourself and that is not a good thing

    but........
    since you are laid off.....
    you got the time

catherine as soon as you get what you need to get done on that house
you will magically get a job i think
and it will be a temporary one.....
so that when it is done....you will move north
    no????

    does sound good huh?

  2. Vi, that is exactly what I was thinking when I turned down the chance to stay on the "wrap up" team with the company and took the package. Getting the house market ready while working all day would have been awful, exhausting and stressful, and would have taken 4x as long. And yes, I'm hoping to luck into a long term temp assignment while the house is on the market - that would be ideal. I still haven't totally committed to moving to MD at this point, if the Perfect Job came along here I would be tempted to stay, in a nice apartment (I already have three contenders for that). Moving to MD would be a huge undertaking, staying in FL would be easier, but with the job market here the way it is, moving to MD is probably going to be the way to go.
