It's Monday and I still have 2 more days off!

Since this is as close as I will get to a "summer vacation," I really appreciate it.

I spent yesterday doing as little as possible and knitting as much as possible. It was my official day of self indulgence. I spent some time doing a stash review and planning office-worthy sweaters. I've been on this Flat Things binge, and I still have the urge to cast on yet another shawl or scarf, but I need cardigans to keep off the office AC. I also have a lot of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in my stash, mostly impulse-purchased on eBay. I went through my patterns and of course found nothing I wanted to make in that gauge. Sweater Wizard to the rescue. I've started a v-neck (unless I change it when I get to it, I'm working up from the bottom) cardigan in the round, the body is in double moss stitch. I knitted obsessively all day yesterday and have about six inches of the body done. I have to keep reminding myself that this is the entire body, not just the back, because progress seems so slow when you make a sweater in the round. It's a size 38, and I'm really wishing I wore a 32.

I don't know why I didn't notice this before, but Morehouse Farm does sell its patterns separately. I want to make this Barbizon Jacket and I thought it was only available in a kit. It calls for worsted weight yarn, and I have deep purple Cascade 220 in the stash. I am determined to knit from the stash, no new yarn until after Labor Day. But patterns are good, patterns help use the stash.

I want these needles.

Clara's review on Knitter's Review sold me - pointy tips! One of my biggest beefs with working with laceweight yarn is that the needle tips aren't always pointy enough to get under it.

Enough dawdling. Time to get in the shower and get on my way, before it's 97 degrees and the thunderstorms roll in again.
