Ooops, I forgot....

How could I forget to tell you - my granddog's first birthday was yesterday. Hard to believe this precious little baby is now a big, gangly clown of 21 lbs.

  1. Happy birthday, Dudley!

My own big, gangly clown Oscar sends his best!

(and Catherine, you should be ashamed! You're seven dog days late for his birthday!!! :P)

  2. I've loved watching him grow this year. Happy Birthday Dudley!

Your ruminations about Florida and moving remind me of my own relocation from MD to Long Island -- it looked like a leap on a whim, but it was really a long process during which the ocean and change and the Universe were conspiring to get me to go. I'm glad I paid attention.

  4. ACK!! Has it been a whole year already??

    Happy birthday Dudley!!

I love northern Florida for all the reasons you mentioned. You only caveat is if you think your summers are hot now, summers in Jax and the like are DEADLY. Much more humid that SoFla but little of the redeeming ocean breezes!

I can't WAIT to see your Clapotis!

  5. Debi, Let's review - I live in ORLANDO. It's hotter and more humid here, and we get far less ocean breeze than Jacksonville. When I go to Jacksonville it feels REFRESHING.

  6. Happy birthday, Dudley, you cutie you! Maggie and I send our love and doggie kisses.

It's been in the 80s all week here in OKC. Just think, two or three weekends ago, it was 17 degrees and we had ice and snow. It's 8:30 pm and I'm sitting here in shorts with the windows open watching a baseball game and feeling like it's June. It's insane--the tent shops that sell plants and flowers every year are getting ready to set up NOW--the first week of MARCH.

My girlfriend swears we'll have another ice/snow storm before the end of April. I think she's probably right.
