I want to wallow in Lion and Lamb.

Yes, it's expensive, but OMG, it's so worth it. And Clapotis is a fun project - highly recommended. I'd put it off for so long, looking for "the right yarn" (but cheaper than L&L) and I'm glad I finally bit the bullet.

I'll be Clapotis-ing for the rest of the week. And I plan to limit my computer time during Lent - can't give it up altogether, obviously. Everything from banking to reading the news to keeping in touch with family and friends involves using the Internet. But I have a bad habit of spending too much of my evening online, and I'm giving up evening computer time for Lent. Computer time and blogging will take place with morning coffee. This should increase my knitting productivity AND take care of some other nagging bad habits with which I am cursed - like not getting household chores done during the week, or getting enough exercise. And finishing knitting projects. I've always thought that Lent should be used for re-evaluation and building better habits, and God knows (hah!) this is a habit that really needs to be broken. My vast blog readership (Hah again! Yes, I'm bitter because some people actually earn a living this way!) will probably not notice any difference, but I will, and I hope it will have a lasting effect on my habits.

I, too, need to limit my computer time. Since I'm retired, I spend too much time on the Internet during the day so I think I shall limit that. By the time Lent is over, I will hopefully have a new, more realistic habit regarding the amount of time I spend with the computer.

Catherine, you're so right about Clapotis. It is just so much fun. I wish I had splurged for Lion & Lamb. The yarn I went with... Elisabeth something? ... is snagging all over the place. Still, a fun project.

  3. Read this latest post from the Panopticon. The guy that writes it was the one who designed the "medal" for the Knitting Olympics.

My jaw dropped at the e-mails he got from some of the crazies and his responses will have me giggle-snorting the rest of the day.

  4. Good luck with the computer thing--I'm struggling with it, also. Since I started a new job in January, I don't have the time during the day to keep up with what's going on in the world, so I'm getting up at 530 am to read the news before getting ready for work. Then of course I have to catch up when I come home, and here it is 9 pm and I haven't touched the pile of crap I brought home from work. Trying to catch up on the weekends is impossible, so I'm trying to cut back on what I read, but it's really hard. I feel really out of touch with the world.

Can't wait to see pictures of your knitting!
