"Bork! Bork! Bork!" Your happy and energetic - with borderline manic tendencies. No one really gets you. And frankly, you don't even get you. But, you sure can whip up a great chocolate mousse |
Swiped from Cursing Mama. I like it.
So, the Girlchild bailed on a free trip to St. Augustine, which is entirely her prerogative - I can understand not being utterly thrilled with a night with a bunch of middle-aged women out on the town. As she put it, there's a sense of being trapped for the weekend - if they came down here and we went out to dinner she'd join us and have a good time, because she'd be free to go off with her people later, but she's not in for that many hours of socializing when she's the only one of her generation on board. I can empathize. So we'll party on without her. We're spending the night up there, though it's not far from one cousin's house, so we can get "festive" without having to drive back. It will be a mini vacation for me, I haven't been up there in six years and I'm looking forward to it. St. Augustine is a tourist trap, for sure, it's all bars, restaurants, historic houses and twee shoppes, but the company will make it a blast.
I did order another skein of Lakeview from Chez Casuelle, and Carla is laying in a stock of Lion and Lamb in Tuscany for moi! Now that's service!
Next temptation: this. I don't know whether to thank Debi for turning me on to this shop, or curse her for the financial damage it's going to cause. But I must be strong and make the cotton shawl (and get more confidence in my lace ability in the process) before moving on to stuff this pricey.
So I'm up too early and getting well caffeinated, I'll get some housework done and just throw a few things in an overnight bag and I'm outta here. This is a quick trip and I'm packing light. I'm not bringing Clapotis but I'll throw in a skein of stash wool and start another Dulaan Hat. I can do them in my sleep. Or in other less than sharp mental states.
40 Days for Others is a super idea. I'm not an official participant, I just wanted to plug it. I found it via Bliss.
Muahahahahahaha....
ReplyDeleteActually I believe you get a 20% off coupon with your first order so the Helen's Lace isn't THAT pricey! And Helen's Lace is actually Jagerspun Zephyr which is then dyed in the Lorna's Laces colorways. So if you want to get your feet wet in a much less spendy way, you could get some Zephyr for practice and then move up to the Helen's Lace!
But it's the Lorna's Laces colors that have me hooked! And yes, Carla set us up (you too) with a 20% off discount if you use "floridaknitter" as a code. So you can go broke right with me, my dear!
ReplyDeleteActually Carla just told me about this...THIS COULD BE SERIOUS!!! :)
