PS re the Victoria Lace Shawl

It IS just feather and fan. It fooled me because in the small photo it looks like the bottom edge has points rather than scallops. But, nope, that's all it is.

F&F is my destiny, apparently.

Yay Friday! A canine intensive weekend is on the agenda - Murphy goes to the groomer today, and Dudley starts doggie school tomorrow. And I'll start shopping for a new TV, but I'm not in any rush - I've ordered a TV cabinet I loved from Target (free shipping) and that will get here around the 10th, and I'll have to put it together, so we'll go a couple of weeks with Camille, the Dying Sony, gasping her last in the living room. And I guess the next linen knitting will be that feather and fan shawl, because I can do it in my sleep, which is the only time I have for knitting.

Somehow, up until now I'd never knit Feather and Fan. I remember my mother and grandmother using it for layettes ans things, though. But I'm working on the Feather and Fan shawl from A Gathering of Lace, and I love it! It's such a nice stitch. It's lovely to look at, and easy to remember. I just wish I had fewer stitches of it to work with ;)

  3. Donna, I love feather and fan because it's so easy to remember, only requires one row of actual attention per repeat, and somehow LOOKS much more challenging than it is. Somewhere in the closet is a baby blanket my grandmother made for me - in gray wool(!???) - in feather and fan.
